Belfast’s Best Value Cocktail Bar

If you’re in Belfast for a weekend away (you lucky thing), or just searching for some inspiration of where to enjoy a reasonably priced cocktail, this is the place for you!

You’re spoilt for choice for bars in the city centre; from the cobbled streets of the Cathedral Quarter to Shaftsbury Square, you could spend ages googling and mapping which bar to go to next and spend a fortune on your way! So, I’ve narrowed down a few of the best value bars with the tastiest cocktails to take the stress out of your night.

Ten Square

Ten Square couldn’t be more central, set behind Belfast City Hall the Hotel’s ‘Linen Bar’ is a perfect rest stop after a day of shopping.

With live music Thursday – Sunday and offers on most nights it’s got a little something for everyone.

Most importantly, an excellent cocktail menu. Their latest offer has been a massive success.

Ladies Night – Offering 4 cocktails and 4 scrumptious sharing dishes all for only £28! it’s a great place to kick off your night!

top tip – if you’d prefer a few beers, see their website/facebook page of their Bucket of Beer and Wings deal

Love and Death

Situated just steps from Victoria Square in the heart of Belfast , Love and Death is a quirky, intimate bar above Little Wings Pizzeria.

Serving food all day and opens to a nightclub in the evenings. Their extensive comic book themed cocktail menu is not to be missed.

Now, they aren’t the cheapest you’ll find in Belfast (between £6.50 – £10) but you definitely will not find this selection of drinks anywhere else.

top tip – keep an eye out on daily deal websites for coupons. *wink*

Granny Annie’s Kitchen-

At the corner of Victoria Square, a short walk from central station and city hall, Granny Annie’s landed in Belfast in 2016 with other venues in Londonderry already.

With quirky decor from the garden tools attached to the fence outside (yip…) to the toilets, it’s a must visit.

Hosting live music from outstanding local artists most evenings, a great food served all day and very reasonably priced cocktails (£6.50) it’s easy to see why people love going round to Granny’s!

top tip – try granny’s boozy tea’ teapot cocktails made for sharing (or just ask for a straw) £15.00

The Fly

Situated opposite Botanic train station The Fly has been around for donkeys!

Offering a bar downstairs and nightclub upstairs always offering drink promos and local live music.

Granted, the bar itself has seen better days but it’s worth a jook, just for its cocktail menu.

With gorgeous £3 cocktails on offer (normally £4) and beer pong available what’s not to love?

top tip – try the ‘Sex Panther’

Filthy McNastys

In the centre of Dublin Road lies The Filthy Quarter. don’t let the name put you off!

With 4 areas including, a nightclub and, arguably the best beer garden in Belfast named ‘The Secret Garden’. Hosting local, live music in the bar every night and an open mic night on a Monday, if you fancy it!

It also has a dedicated cocktail bar, again not the cheapest you’ll find in Belfast (around £6.50 each), but I think it’s worth the extra few quid to sit outside and sip a unique cocktail creation.

Filthy’s is well known for their cocktail masterclass, a great start to a night out or for a birthday! Check out their website for bookings.

top tip – check their facebook page for daily deals and promos

Madison’s Hotel

Slap-bang in the middle of Botanic Avenue, Madison’s is a great all-rounder. With chic decor, food served all day, live music in the bar and a basement nightclub at the weekends it really does have something for everyone.

Their cocktail menu has been reduced in recent months but at £3 each between 5pm-9pm 7 days a week  it’s hard to complain.

top tip – ask about their promos for groups – cocktail masterclasses and packages available including overnight stays and dinner

 Address: 59-63 Botanic Ave, Belfast BT7 1JL

Tipsy Bird

The very newest addition to Belfast’s cocktail scene opening its doors in March 2017 only a few steps up the road from Love and Death.

This beautifully decorated shabby-chic bar offers amazing live music and a dedicated cocktail menu.

Check it out for yourself!
